Me: "I thought you didn't want to make any more mantous?"
Myself: "If I don't make, I'm afraid the kids have nothing to eat in the morning."
Me: "There're still some more breads in the container."
Myself: "Nevermind, I'll just make some and keep it in the fridge, so that they can eat anytime!"
Do you often have self talks? Well, I do, once in a while. Not exactly in this case actually. I hesitated a little before deciding if I should make lots of them. As you know, I have a large family. Erm...not actually very large. Okay, correction needed. I have three small mouths to feed. However, when it comes to foods that the three small mouths like, one small mouth can eat three shares! So you can imagine, sometimes, I really need to "mass produce" or bulk purchase!
In the end, I managed to convince myself to make chocolate steamed buns for my children. They loved these chocolate buns very much! They were pretty small when I made it, so the boys could eat at least four of these at one time! It didn't take long to finish them though. I took this recipe from Florence's blog. Thanks to Fiona who recommended me to try it!

Jane, the way you open your post made me think you have dual personality, hahaha! Actually most of the time I just bake...I don't ask myself, no good horr. But wow, those chocolate mantou looks really good, gonna make try them next week, thanks!
Hahaha...HBS, I think I have. Half of me likes to bake, the other half likes to lazy. So must decide which half wins most of the time! Oh, they are really good, you must try it!
One of the joys of being a mother and a wife is to fuss over your children and husband... And it is all the more rewarding when they enjoy and appreciate your efforts.
Mmmm they looked so delicious. I'm sure will try this out. Thanks for sharing!!
Oh btw, I do talk to myself..haha! Not only you..I do feel the same way sometimes.
Hi Shirley,
You are very right! As long as they like and appreciate, I'll be comforted and motivated!
Hi Reese,
You're such a dear! You understand how I felt about self talk! Haha... Shows I'm not abnormal! Anyway, this mantou is really chocky and nice, you'll like it!
Looks yummy and easy to make. Will bookmark to try. Thanks for sharing!
Normally when my dual personality arise is whether to buy or not. One tell me just do it and other tell me let's wait and see whether you really needed it.
Yes I agree with Shirley, the reward of seeing your effort appreciated warms the heart and that really keeps you going.
Just yesterday, at the supermarket my helper was urging me to buy manto (white). But since I am not going to buy anymore pork for this week, and I can't find any way to eat it better, I didn't put a pack in the trolley.
Now seeing your choc mantou, I might give this a shot next week when I am feeling better.
Hi Edith,
We are normal female species. I'm sure many of us faced this problem. I faced the exact self talk when I go to the supermarket. Sometimes if I buy it, I don't use it. However, when I decided not to buy, I seem to need it! Life is just so ironical when it comes to decisions!
Anyway, do take care. I know you have to ferry your children, better to stay in the car to wait for them than to come out. The haze won't be subsiding any sooner, I think... Take care!
Mmmm they looked so delicious. I'm sure will try this out. Thanks for sharing!!
