Cookie Art Workshop 2 Aug 09

Having experienced the first workshop with time OVER-RAN, I did an analysis of why the class was over-ran. Knowing that there was another workshop at 4pm, I cannot afford the same mistake this time. So this time, I "accelerated" slowly & steadily, and kept a good time management with my participants. And all thanks to them for being "on board" and "with" me, we completed all in time! :)

For that day's workshop, I finally met one of my online friend - Adeline. I think she signed up the workshop partly to learn, and partly because I told her I was teaching this workshop (*thick skin*). Anyway, it's always good to meet up with people who has been friendly with you online (emails or through blogs), so that you can actually put a face to the name. So far, the people that I've known online, and met, are all very wonderful and helpful people. So I'm not stopping it anytime!

Ok, back to the workshop. One of the participant is very interesting. She told me that she thought cookie design is very "girlish" as she belonged to the "cze cha" rough type. I told her I don't agree. I said that bakers can also scold vulgarity under extreme "heat". With the stress and baking, and the oven heat, how would one not "hot up"? Hahaha... Anyway, I found that "cze cha" lady full of character! When she learnt that colour pastes are required in colouring the royal icing, she turned to her friend and told her friend to do it for her, for her house do not have all these colours! Hahaha... That really amazed me!

Anyway, looking at the designs that they created, I wondered if it was the first time they had tried the cookie decoration. They just looked so beautiful!

I'm awaiting for one of the participant to send me the pictures of the designs created by the other 4 participants as my camera batteries decided to dry up on me!

Hi Laureen,
Yes, the cookies were very nicely done by the participants. All said first timer, I can't believe that boy! :p You still need to go for classes? Don't kid me my dear! You're already good enough to teach! ;)

Hi quizzine,
It's always good to attend workshops to pick up some skills and the dos and don'ts. Actually, I shared with my participants that there are a lot of very good recipes on the internet, try them first. If you failed, then you go and learn to pick up the techniques. Otherwise, don't bother. :p

Hi Grace,
Heehee... Small exposure lah. Aw, actually they are good and creative. Nothing to do with me leh. I can't create what they did even on my first time! Hahaha...In fact, they are better than me leh. :)

Hi Grace,
Thanks for your compliments. I'm not as talented as you, really. I only teach based on what I have learnt and know. The rest, I'm not as good. My next class is on 16 Aug. However, the studio is rather small, is only meant for the participants. Sorry about that. We can arrange separetely to meet somewhere after my class to catch up! ;p
