Marine Life

As I was bored during CNY weekend, I practice fondant on my dummy cake. The fondant had expired. I kept it just so that I can practice with them. I created a "Marine Life" theme for it and left it to display at my place for a week. Then down the rubbish chute it went! It was all... a child's play the work of a bored adult!
I'm submitting this to Aspiring Bakers #16: Fun with Fondant! (February 2012) hosted by Yvonne of iceamericanos. [I've been told to submit this, so I'd better be obedient and do it! LOL]

  7. Thanks SSB. I thought of submitting initially, however, there was no step by step, nor recipe. So I figured I had to give it a miss! Thanks for the info!

Those marine creatures are very nicely shaped. My sons sure like it! I wish I have the chance to play with the fondant one day.

  13. The cake looks very cute. I haven't done fondant for a long, long time now. Probably will start again next month. By the way do you buy your fondant - what brand or make your own from scratch?

  14. Hi Jo,
Now that you mentioned, I realized that you have not done fondant for a long time! I usually buy my fondant from Kitchen Capers. It's Bakel brand. I like this compared to Wilton. I understood there is a new fondant sold in a tub. You may want to check it out in KC. It's cheaper than PH.
