Rich Chocolate Cake

After a little lavender craze, it's now back to normal baking. I cannot, simply cannot resist good chocolate cakes. Whether it's frosted or not, it doesn't matter. As long as they looked rich to me, I would love to grab it and stuff it into my mouth! Hahaha... The more bitter it is, the better. I'm a big fan of dark chocolates. Last week, my sister's friend bought her a box of Royce dark chocolates: 80% & 90%. Yummy!

I was determined to bake this Rich Chocolate Cake after I saw the post from HBS. As the recipe was only enough for a 6" cake, I decided to increase the quantity so as to bake more. The challenge in such a recipe is folding the thick mixture to the egg whites. It's never been easy. I think mine wasn't that thoroughly mixed, which explained why there were some streaks of lines in the cake. Overall, this cake was really really well received. My children love it very very much. It's really good on its own! The richness of the cocoa can be smell the moment the cover of the container is opened! This is how rich it is! For such a nice cake, frosting is not required. However, if add chocolate mousse, it'll even be better, and more sinful!! Don't we all love sinful foods?? ;)

Woah yes. This cake is really very nice. I thought it can be passed off as mud cake, just add ice cream next to it, drizzle some chocolate sauce...WOAH! ;)
