New York Part 1 - Washington DC

I'm back unwillingly!! Almost immediately after my son's PSLE, my hubby, my eldest son and I flew off to New York. Why New York? Because my hubby was to transit there for a business trip sometime in mid-Oct. So I thought we might as well make use of this opportunity (to save on his airfare) to visit the lovely place.

It was more like an incentive trip for both my son and I...actually more for me! Heehee... I did most of the planning for the whole trip, occasionally asking my hubby for his opinion and also checking with NEL and Kokken69 for more information. Thanks ladies!

We started our trip in Washington DC, then Niagara Falls and back to New York City. Here's the first part of our trip-Washington, District of Columbia.

Bolt Bus from New York City (NYC) to Washington DC.
Our hotel - Embassy Row Hotel along Massachusetts Ave.
Outside Union Station.
Bureau of Engraving and Printing.
(Don't know what) Memorial
Washington Memorial.

Road towards Arlington National Cemetery.
Rows and rows of tombstones for their servicemen.
JFK's Eternal Flame.
One of the tombstone for Space Shuttle Columbia astronauts.
Pentagon from afar.
White House
Capitol Hill
Escalator to Dupont Circle Metro

Washington DC is full of ancient traditional buildings. Many of the buildings are like the Bureau with pillars. It's full of history, stories and memorials. There are a lot of (free) museums in the city. It's not enough to cover for a day.

In terms of eateries, there wasn't many along the places which we cover. However, near to our hotel, around Dupont Circle area, there are quite a number of eateries, and a nice mini park.

Stay tuned for my next part - Niagara Falls.

You went to New York? I'm so incredibly jealous!

Sounds like you guys had a fantastic trip after months of slogging away for your son's PSLE!
